FOXTROT ZULU

High energy horn driven rock from Rhode Island. Technical proficiency meets improvisational prowess.

Biography

Foxtrot Zulu live with O.A.R.

Rhode Island's road warriors Foxtrot Zulu have been touting their vibrant musical melange in stadiums, clubs, festivals and colleges throughout the US with relentless energy and passion since 1994. Consequently they have left many a dance floor shaking in their wake.

The seven members bring together a kaleidoscopic blend of influences to create their own unique sound. Rock, jazz, folk, funk, and ska are effortlessly intertwined within the framework of highly melodic and finely crafted songs. To this they add a propensity for improvisation and synchronicity. The result is music that sparkles with vitality and originality, but more importantly has integrity, depth and is undeniably laced with a good-time feel.

Born out of the beach towns and backroads of the University of Rhode Island and the independent Rhode Island music scene, Foxtrot Zulu blends rock energy, roots warmth, catchy song-writing and jam-band freedom, and has earned their reputation the old-fashioned way—through more than 2,000 live shows across the United States.

Along the way, the band has released five albums, three independently and two on Phoenix Records, an offshoot of the former Arista and a bastion for artists who brought commercial success to the Roots Rock/Jam-Band scene. The band's music has been featured on MTV's "The Real World" and held numerous spots--including the longest running #1 single-- on the Jam Bands.com top ten, as well as appearing on other college radio charts. They have been featured prominently in Relix Magazine and shared the stage with some of the largest names in rock and roll.

In 2025, the band opened up for long-time friends and collaborators OAR at Mohegan Sun Stadium. Foxtrot Zulu followed that sold-out performance with another sold-out Halloween show at Rhode Island's iconic Ocean Mist.

Foxtrot Zulu may be a nationally recognized act, but they have never forgotten their Rhode Island roots. The band carries the spirit of South County in their music and energetic live performances, that value authenticity over polish and passion over pretense.
